DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the EAA Chapter 302 website. Our chapter is located at Conroe North Houston Regional Airport [KCXO] in Conroe\, Texas. Meetings are held every 2nd Saturday at Galaxy FBO starting at 10:00 am. The Galaxy FBO entrance is off Loop 336\, south of the main airport entrance. Our membership is one of varied interests and skill levels\, devoted to aircraft construction\, maintenance\, and safe flying adherence. \n\n\n\n\nBackgrounds of our membership are a large cross-section of aviation diversity; including beginning pilots\, corporate\, general aviation\, military\, and airline pilots. Members are constructing aircraft in nearly all methods of construction. We have flight advisors as well as technical counselors that are helpful in sheet metal construction\, tube and fabric\, and welding techniques. The knowledge base of our total membership in aircraft construction is thorough and of wide experience. \n\n\n\n\nChapter 302 has an active Young Eagles program and we invite any youngster to participate with parent or guardian involvement. \n\n\n\n\nIn addition to our aircraft activities\, many members of our chapter are happily involved in various social functions that the chapter schedules. DESCRIPTION:Young Eagles \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYoung Eagles is a program sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association that is designed to introduce young people to civil aviation.  Events are staged all over the United States by EAA Chapters including our own Chapter 302 based at Lone Star Executive Airport in Conroe\, Texas.  At EAA 302\, we fly kids from 12 through 17 years of age. Initially\, a briefing and demonstration for actual flight is conducted\, and then with parental consent\, a volunteer pilot will take the applicant on a 15-20 minute flight around the immediate area which will include views of Lake Conroe and other prominent landmarks.  A completion certificate is then issued to the new Young Eagle to recognize their accomplishment along with a free flight training course and their very own flight log book   There is no cost involved. \n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\nPlease visit youngeaglesday.org to find an event close to you. DESCRIPTION:Professional Pilot Program – Associate of Applied Science and Certificate\n\nThe Associate of Applied Science – Professional Pilot degree provides the flight training and academic education to prepare students for a career as a professional pilot. Authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a Part 141 institution\, students will complete Private\, Commercial\, Certified Flight Instructor-Airplane (CFI-A) and Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument (CFI-I) along with the instrument and multi-engine ratings. Upon degree completion graduates are eligible to pursue employment as a certified flight instructor\, aerial photography pilot\, pipeline patrol pilot\, corporate pilot and more. The academic requirements of this program\, which have been closely mapped to the needs and demands of the aviation industry\, provide the foundation for students to continue their education to a bachelor’s degree.

Even if you’re not named crew\, come on out and let’s get the GCW back in the air! \n  \nWe are holding a local Rides Day at General Aviation Services\, this time hosting CAF friends the CenTex Wing’s C-47 That’s All\, Brother and the B-25 Yellow Rose\, plus the SB2C Helldiver. \nAs of yesterday\, our JRB/Twin Beech was scratched from the line up\, as there are still a few outstanding items before her engine change is complete.  CenTex will be bringing their C-45 to take her place. \n  \nCenTex aircraft arrive on Friday March 31st at mid-day. The Diver arrives Saturday. \n  \nMEDIA DAY on Friday March 31st at 3:30 PM. \nWe are hosting a VIP Media flight and have confirmed County Judge Mark Keough and County Commissioner Robert Walker.  As members of the Montgomery County Commissioners’ Court these are very important guests. Any members are welcome to come out and let the commissioners see the CAF in action. 😊  We will fly the commissioners and any other media/VIPs at 4:00 PM that day on That’s All Brother. Flight Ops can take this opportunity to fly any other aircraft for training or generating interest. \n  \nRides Day on Saturday April 1st: \nEssential crew report at 8:00 AM\, non – essential crew report at 9:00 AM. \n  \nGates open to the public for tours at 10:00 AM;  PX also open by 10:00. First flight is 10:00 AM in the Helldiver. Second flight is the SNJ at 11:30 AM. The bombers begin LHFE flights at noon. \nPassengers will begin to report in at 9:30 AM. \nWe are charging regular ramp admission at the door for tours: $10 for teens and adults; $5 for 12 and under; $20 for a family of two adults and up to three kids. \nLast flights go up at 4:00 – 4:15. \nWe are off the field by 5:00 PM. \n  \nWe will have a food truck onsite run by GCW COL Damon Mathews serving bratwurst and tacos. Members can purchase a $5 lunch ticket at the PX tent which will be good for $10 at the food truck. We will rely on GCW kitchen for water and sodas. \n  \nA ramp plan is attached\, which may be subject to adjustment upon our arrival\, depending on GAS capacity. \n  \nLoadmasters:  We will need one tent\, one large ice chest with ice and water and gator-ade\, the A-frame signs\, folding chairs\, and cones and ropes to keep the public off of the hot ramp as we’ve done before. \nWe will also need someone to put out the new road signs at the airport entrance. (And collect them at the end of the day!) The CenTex Wing is also bringing a PX and a tent. \n  \nTents will be outdoors by the patio. Ride Coordinators will be set up indoors.
