Young Eagles is a program sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association that is designed to introduce young people to civil aviation. Events are staged all over the United States by EAA Chapters including our own Chapter 302 based at Lone Star Executive Airport in Conroe, Texas. At EAA 302, we fly kids from 12 through 17 years of age. Initially, a briefing and demonstration for actual flight is conducted, and then with parental consent, a volunteer pilot will take the applicant on a 15-20 minute flight around the immediate area which will include views of Lake Conroe and other prominent landmarks. A completion certificate is then issued to the new Young Eagle to recognize their accomplishment along with a free flight training course and their very own flight log book There is no cost involved.
